
Dr. Christoph Steffen, medical epidemiologist, is in charge of the influenza and respiratory viruses field research program at AMP. Since joining the company in January 2010, he has organized the AfriFlu international conference on influenza disease burden in Africa, held in June 2010.
Previously, Dr. Steffen worked for two years at the European Commission in Brussels, where he was in charge of health research funding and policy development. He also worked as an epidemiologist, in charge of surveillance and outbreak response, for the World Health Organization Global Influenza Program in Geneva.
Dr. Steffen earned his MD from Paris-René Descartes University where he did his four-year specialization in public health and his MSc from Imperial College London.
