‘Health for All’: A Key Issue at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2012

January 27, 2012

At this year’s World Economic Forum (WEF), more than 3,000 global leaders from business, government, and civil society came together in Davos, Switzerland to address ways to improve the state of the world. One of the key issues on the annual agenda was “health for all,” recognized as an important part of long-term economic development. Health-related sessions focused in particular on reshaping healthcare models.

Since its creation 40 years ago, AMP has been working with numerous public and private actors in the field to make gains in health and immunization in developing countries. This public-private approach is closely aligned with the work of the WEF. Every year, the Forum brings together public and private health stakeholders from across the globe including, for example, the GAVI Alliance, which was launched at the Forum in 2000.
