Project Spotlight
LOGIVAC provides technical support to improve logistics for health, the vaccine supply chain, and vaccine management in West and Central Africa through certified training and recognition of professional health logisticians and the establishment of a reference and resource center.
LOGIVAC aims to ensure that logisticians or supply chain managers have the necessary skills and support to meet tomorrow’s health logistics needs. Implemented by AMP and WHO, LOGIVAC is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Establishment of a ‘NITAG’ in CI: Process & Lessons Learned
In 2010, Côte d’Ivoire became the first GAVI-eligible country in sub-Saharan Africa to establish a National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG): the “National Committee of Independent Experts for Immunization and Vaccines.” This article describes the step-by-step country-driven process to create the committee, its organization and activities.
Factors behind the committee’s success include strong political will, sufficient national expertise, and technical assistance to the Ministry of Health (provided by AMP’s SIVAC Initiative).
