Project Spotlight
LOGIVAC provides technical support to improve logistics for health, the vaccine supply chain, and vaccine management through training and recognition of professional health logisticians in Western and Central Africa.
Through establishing professional training programs and a reference & resources center, the project aims to ensure supply chain managers have the necessary skills to meet tomorrow’s supply chain needs. LOGIVAC is a joint project by AMP and WHO.

This study evaluated the cost and impact of meningitis epidemics on the public health system in Burkina Faso. Results showed relatively high costs of reactive immunization campaigns using polysaccharide meningococcal vaccine and the disruption of routine health services.
These findings support routine immunization with meningococcal conjugate vaccine, assuming affordability, adequate duration of protection, and infrequent serogroup replacement.
